GOVERNMENT CONTRACT

Government has implemented the Projek Perumahan Rakyat Termiskin [PPRT] a few years ago. These projects mainly found in traditional Malay kampungs and in a few urban areas. Hardly find it in new villages! This project has been extended to covered the 'orang asal' lately. The main objective is to ensure that all Malaysians have proper living.

There are many PPRT houses built in Jalong Tinggi over the years. The cost of building PPRT houses in 'orang asal' village is more expensive than those houses in kampungs. The reason is high transportation cost and difficult getting workers; however, the workmanship is beyond acceptance.

My recent visit to Kampung Kelah in Jalong Tinggi proofed it. The Batin house was built less than a year, few ceilings have been dropped off; no proper drainage and sanitation. This is the second project of 7 units PPRT houses for Kampung Kelah; the first project in 2008 was abandon. I have visited the earlier project site in late 2008.

There are complaints from other Batins too e.g. NACO window without glasses, sewerage tank without cover etc.

An official written complaint to the Perak State Jabatan Kemajuan Orang Asal (JKOA) Director has been made.
