DAMAGED ROAD

The road leading to Kampung Pisang in Jalong Tinggi is badly damaged due to recent down pour. The prolong raining has washed away the culverts living a 2 m deep ravine. Currently, only 10 cm thick tar hanging over across. This is the only route for the villagers. There are 50 school going children, 30 working adults and villagers using this road daily.

I received a call from the Kenang Batin on Tuesday (14 Nov. 2014) late evening and visited the place next day. A letter to Perak Menteri Besar [on Persatuan Anak Jati Temiar Jalong Tinggi, Sungai Siput letter head] requesting for immediate action.

YBU Micro Credit

An application for Yayasan Bina Upaya micro-credit has been submitted. The applicants, is an Orang Asal in Kg. Kenang. He has been operating a sundries shop since 1990.  He has shown his entrepreneurship and I appreciate and support him, thus I am assisting him for the micro-credit so that he can expand his business for the locals. It is not easy to get an Orang Asal whom dare to ventured into their non-traditional work. His enthusiasm should be encouraged and emulate by others.

Good luck and all the best, !

SKILLS TRAINING PROJECT WITH RECYCLE PARTS - 1

Lately, the government emphasized that technical and vocational training shall be the first choice in order to achieve high income country, thus people have to change their mentality.

PESDC has been providing free training for school leavers since 2004 via Workforce Technical Transformation Programme. To-date more than 2000 school leavers have been trained in various technical skills. PESDC concentrate on drop-outs and SPM failures which made it different from other public and private training centres.

As an Administration Manager, all trainers have been asked to develop their creativity to trained youth that are capable for the industries.

An innovative idea by Mr Kathiravan - Industrial Automation is to build a conveyor system model from recycle parts e.g. tyre tube, motors, shaft, screws, wood etc. Upon completion of a relevant module, the trainees are requested to build the relevant parts / section.

trainer + trainees

use parts - motors, tyre tube, shaft, gear, wood, belt, etc.

 These help the trainees to:
  1. understand the concept and application through building the model system by themselves
  2. reuse materials for building the model system enhanced awareness on 3R
  3. developed teamwork in the course of building the model
  4. safety awareness while building the model
  5. communications among team members and trainer-trainee
