WHO CARES!

Recent visit to a few 'orang asal' settlements in Jalong Tinggi, shows that the Jabatan Kemajuan Orang Asal [JAKOA] is not doing enough to improve the living quality and surrounding. Sources said that the current Member of Parliament and State Assemblyman did not visit them at all.

Batin Saidin of Kg. Kenang shown me the clogged drain. The nearby houses flooded during heavy rain. My  advise to them: all villagers must do their civil responsibility to clear the drain in front of their house. Do not wait for assistance from government department as it may take time, however, a 'gotong-royong' will be plan soon.

The roads are badly damaged. No repair and maintenance works carry out for the past 5 years after Dato' Seri Utama Samy Vellu lost the Sungai Siput Parliament!

At the same time, a memorandum will be forward to Perak Menteri Besar, hope to have his consent and attention.

JALINAN MUHIBBAH BERSAMA MASYARAKAT ORANG ASAL

In conjunction with the 50th Malaysia Day celebration, Kelab Sukan Komuniti Jalong and Persatuan Kebajikan & Komuniti Muhibbah has visited the 'Orang Asal' in Jalong Tinggi. This is part of the 'Semarak Hari Kebangsaan Malaysia' programme which was started since 2012.

The purpose of the visit is to enhance closer friendship with the aborigines. During the visit, we exchange ideas how to collaborate on uplifting the living quality and surrounding of the 'Orang Asal'; at the same time, we discuss what are the programmes / activities that both 'Orang Asal' and 'orang bandar' can do together.

A few programme has been identified and some need to be bring to the attention of the respective government agencies as follows:
  1. 'gotong-royong' to clear the clogged drainage
  2. remind Perak Menteri Besar on his announcement during his visit prior to the 13th General Election
  3. road repairs, building 'balai sewang' and upgrade the sports facilities
  4. electricity supply
  5. housing and amenities
Kelab Sukan Komuniti Jalong presented a set of soccer and takraw jersey respectively to Kg. Pisang, whilst 2 takraw balls and a net was presented to 6 other kampungs i.e. Lawai, Landap, Asal, Langkor, Kenang and Larik.

POT HOLES - Taman Lintang Makmur

The main road to Taman Lintang Makmur are full of pot holes. It has been patch-up few time. The most recent is before the 13th General Election but too bad it is damage again. The recent rainy season causes the damage due to drainage overflow. What is needed - (1) join the drain across so that the water can be sustain in the other part of the drain; (2) build a drain at the road side and (3) resurface the road higher not just patch it!

Apart from the pot-holes, the building waste are left along the main road and the drain has been blocked. These are due to the renovation and repairs works on a role of double storey houses.

A complaint has been lodged to Majlis Perbandaran Kuala Kangsar. Awaiting actions / reply.
