POT HOLES - Taman Lintang Makmur

The main road to Taman Lintang Makmur are full of pot holes. It has been patch-up few time. The most recent is before the 13th General Election but too bad it is damage again. The recent rainy season causes the damage due to drainage overflow. What is needed - (1) join the drain across so that the water can be sustain in the other part of the drain; (2) build a drain at the road side and (3) resurface the road higher not just patch it!

Apart from the pot-holes, the building waste are left along the main road and the drain has been blocked. These are due to the renovation and repairs works on a role of double storey houses.

A complaint has been lodged to Majlis Perbandaran Kuala Kangsar. Awaiting actions / reply.

CELEBRATING NATIONAL DAY MY WAY!

I received an emergency call from my 'orang asal' friend, Ruseli a day after Hari Raya. The Batin of Kampung Pisang house was completely burnt due to the cooking gas leaking 2 days before Hari Raya Aidil Fitri. I visited him a day after receiving the call (4th day after Hari Raya Aidil Fitri). I was told that the State Assemblyman of Lintang [YB Dato' Haji Ahamad Fakeh Adam], the Jalong Constituency Coordinator [Mr. Anand] and Mr Liew Yew Aw, JP have given him some monetary assistance. Jabatan Pembangunan Orang Asal (JAKOA) and Yayasan Budi Upaya (YBU) agreed to helps.

Today (2 September, 2012) I have visited him again with some daily necessity. At the same time. I brought along some clothing and toys for the villagers too. The children are very happy and excited with the toys. Toys are the most important present I must bring along when I visit them.

As I arrived to Kampung Pisang, I was informed that Batin Nasiri and his men has gone to clean and repair the reservoir. The reservoir is located 5 KM from Kampung Pisang. My friends and I walks into the jungle leads by a villager. This small reservoir cater water for Kampung Pisang folks. This has proven that Batin Nasiri is a responsible leader as he just lost his home yet he still lead his men to repair and maintain the gravity feed to provide clean water for the villagers.

Upon arriving the location, my friends and I together with the villagers started fixing the pipe. This is the second gravity feed water supply that I have done in Jalong Tinggi. Personally, I am very happy to spent my holiday with my 'orang asal' friends. Other than improving my relationship with the 'orang asal', I learn a lot from them especially the jungle survival tips!

I am physically and mentally fresh after this trip. The cooling surrounding is very refreshing. It a good sweat out during the 5 KM walk into the secondary jungle and crossing streams. This is one of the many memoirs I have with my 'orang asal' friends.
