HANDCRAFT BY INDIGENOUS TEMIAR ETHNIC





I have requested my Temiar ethnic indigenous friends to do some handcraft from the bamboo and rattan. These raw materials are easily available in their surrounding. 'Gaharu' ,'keruing', 'raja kayu' and others are difficult now due to logging and illegal harvest of these woods. These will be their alternative source of income to upgrade their living standard. The products are highly sought by city folks. I do tell them careful of middle man whom will take advantage on them by selling their products.

They are obedient thus produce some sample products as follows:





Those who want to buy or  plan to market the products can contact me. I do this voluntarily without personal interest merely to assists my indigenous friends to have a better living. 

I have also requested them to made furniture as the demand by the city folks is high too.

I personally hope that JAKOA shall play an important role to assists the indigenous people to upgrade their living standard faithfully and sincerely as these is their duties and responsibilities, whilst these is what they are paid for. JAKOA shall market the indigenous people products.

EYE & HEALTH SCREENING CARNIVAL - KG. KENANG, JALONG TINGGI







I am honored that Dato' Dr. Jesvinder Singh, the eye specialist in Hospital Raja Pemaisuri Bainun, Ipoh agreed for an eye checking programme for the indigenous people in Kg. Kenang, Jalong Tinggi. Many thanks to the Kuala Kangsar District Health Office for their cooperation for health screening (blood pressure, BMI and sugar level test).



The turnout is good. More than 100 folks came for the check-up. Those who need treatment will be refer to the specialist clinic in Hospital Raja Pemaisuri Bainun, Ipoh, whilst those who need follow-up check has been refer to Sg. Siput Hospital.


The excitement for the day was the surprise visit by Y.A.M. Raja Yong Sofia (the Sultan Perak youngest sister). She was accompanied by her son Y.M. Tunku Aznal and daughter. YAM Raja Yong Sofia spent about an hour with the 'orang asal'. For the 'orang asal' it is the first time visited by a royal family!

2nd MUHIBBAH BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN







KRT Taman-Taman Muhibbah and Persatuan Kebajikan & Komuniti Muhibbah has successfully organised the 2014 2nd Muhibbah Blood Donation Campaign today. 50 donors from all races - Malay, Chinese, Indian and Dayak (Sarawak ethnic) came. No rejection of donors this time. I felt that the blood flow are fast maybe due to the recent hot weather!
